Feeney grew up on a farm in Athenry, Co. Galway. She went to Scoil Croi Naofa, Athenry a school she disparages in, The Radio was Gospel, and completed her education at University College Galway, University College Cork and later University of Limerick. She read with the Chilean Poet, Raul Zurita at the 2015 Versefest in Ottawa, Canada.
